सोवियत संघ के विघटन का कारण- सोवियत संघ की राजनीतिक तथा आर्थिक स्वरूप आंतरिक रुप से कमजोर थी ।
कई वर्षों तक बाजार तथा अर्थव्यवस्था सोवियत संघ की अच्छी नहीं रही । जिसका प्रभाव उसके विघटन पर पड़ा ।
70 सालों तक सोवियत संघ पर कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी का शासन चला । यह पार्टी जनता के लिए कुछ खास प्रभाव नहीं छोड़ पाया।

गोर्बाचेव की विकास नीति की रफ्तार कुछ खास नहीं थी। जिससे लोग खास खुश नहीं रहते थे। कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी की सदस्यो का कहना था कि गोर्बाचेव के "सुधार नीति " उनके जनता के लिए अच्छे नहीं है ।
लोगों के मन में असंतोष की भावना घर कर गई । जिसके कारण लोगों के बीच भेदभाव होने लगे । इन सभी कारणों के कारण सोवियत संघ का विघटन हुआ।
शॉक थेरेपी- सोवियत संघ के पतन के बाद पूरे विश्व में यह समझा जाने लगा कि अब साम्यवाद की जगह पूंजीवाद का राज चलेगा और ऐसा ही हुआ। पूरे विश्व में जो राज्य साम्यवाद का पालन करता था, उसे अब पूंजीवाद में बदला जाने जाने था।

इसके लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ/IMF) द्वारा साम्यवाद से पूंजीवाद व्यवस्था के कार्यक्रम संक्रमण के लिए एक खास तरीका या मॉडल तैयार किया गया।
जो इन देशों ने अपनाया जो साम्यवाद का समर्थन कर रहे थे। इस विशेष मॉडल को शॉक थेरेपी का नाम दिया गया । इस व्यवस्था को पूरे विश्व के लोगों को समझा पाना काफी कठिन था।
जिसके कारण यह पूरे विश्व के लिए एक "शॉक " के रूप में उभरा ।साम्यवादी- समाजवादी व्यवस्था से लोकतांत्रिक पूंजीवादी में बदल जाना ही शॉक थेरेपी कहां गया ।
शॉक थेरेपी की विशेषता - इस व्यवस्था के कारण सरकारी संपदा को तुरंत निजी करण कर दिया गया । कृषि की व्यवस्था को भी निजी करण कर दिया गया।
सामूहिक फार्म को निजी व्यवस्था में बदला गया । व्यापारिक क्षेत्रों में भी निजी करण कर दिया गया । इसका उद्देश्य था कि संपूर्ण साम्यवादी व्यवस्था पर अपना पूंजीवादी व्यवस्था को लागू करना। यह भी कहा गया कि पश्चिमी पूंजीवाद देश पूर्वी साम्यवाद देशों का मार्गदर्शन करेंगे ।
शॉक थेरेपी के परिणाम - शॉक थेरेपी सन् 1990 में लागू की गई । इसका प्रभाव कुछ खास नहीं निकला। इससे लोगों को हानि हुई शॉक थेरेपी का परिणाम तुरंत नहीं निकला। यह विश्व की अर्थव्यवस्था को कुछ ज्यादा लाभ ना दे सका ।
शॉक थेरेपी से पूर्वी साम्यवादी देशों को काफी नुकसान हुआ। जिसका प्रभाव साम्यवादी देशों के अर्थव्यवस्था पर काफी प्रभाव पड़ा। सोवियत संघ की अर्थव्यवस्था इस व्यवस्था से चरमरा गई ।
लगभग 50 से ज्यादा बैंकों का विकास रुक गया। सरकार के निर्मित वस्तुओं को कम दामों में बेचा गया। जिससे कारखानों तथा अर्थव्यवस्था पूरी तरह से नष्ट हो गई। निजीकरण हो जाने के कारण वस्तुओं का निर्माण सही समय पर नहीं होने लगा । जिससे समय पर वस्तुओं का निर्यात नहीं होने लगा। इस व्यवस्था से गरीब तथा अमीरों की संख्याओं का विकास होने लगा। संसार में बड़ी मात्रा में गरीबी- अमीरी की समस्या खड़ी हुई ।
भारत तथा सोवियत संघ के बीच संबंध - शीत युद्ध के दौरान मे भारत और सोवियत संघ के बीच मित्रता बढ़ने लगी। जिसके परिणाम स्वरूप कई देशों ने इसका आलोचना किया । सभी देश यह कहने लगे कि भारत सोवियत की तरफ झुकने लगा है। सोवियत संघ ने भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था को उस समय मदद की जिस समय भारत के अर्थव्यवस्था काफी खराब थी ।
सोवियत संघ ने भारत के कश्मीर के मामले में हमेशा सहायता की है तथा इसका पक्ष लिया है। भारत को सोवियत संघ ने हमेशा सैन्य मदद दी है । अपना विशेष औजारों को सोवियत संघ ने भारत को बेचा है। भारत की संस्कृति सोवियत में काफी प्रसिद्ध है ।
भारत की फिल्म तथा संस्कृति को सोवियत में काफी सम्मान दिया गया है । सोवियत संघ ने अपना वैज्ञानिक तकनीकों को भारत को दिया है तथा भारत के वैज्ञानिकों का भी सहायता की है ।
भारत ने हमेशा साम्यवादी देशों का सम्मान किया है । उसके सांस्कृतिक ,धार्मिक राजनीतिक ,पद्धतियों का सम्मान किया है। भारत के हिंदी कलाकार जैसे- राज कपूर तथा अमिताभ बच्चन को सोवियत के टीवी में दिखाया गया है ।
निष्कर्ष - विश्व में एक ध्रुवीयता का उदय शीत युद्ध का अंत तथा सोवियत संघ के विघटन के बाद हुआ । सोवियत संघ का विघटन शीत युद्ध में ही हो गया । सोवियत संघ के विघटन में अमेरिका का काफी योगदान था । सोवियत संघ के विघटन के बाद विश्व में एक ही महा शक्ति बची जो अमेरिका था।
अमेरिका ने अनेक कार्य किए जिससे पूरे विश्व में यह भावना पैदा होने लगा कि अब विश्व में सिर्फ एक ही महा शक्ति है, जो अमेरिका है । अमेरिका ने अपना वर्चस्व कायम करने के लिए पूरे विश्व में अनेक प्रकार के कार्य प्रारंभ कर दिए । इस प्रकार विश्व में अमेरिका द्वारा अपना वर्चस्व कायम किया गया जिसे एकध्रुवीयता कहां गया।

Speciality of Shock Therapy - Due to this arrangement government property was immediately privatized. The system of agriculture was also made private.
Results of shock therapy - Shock therapy was introduced in the year 1990. Its effect was not significant. This did not result in immediate shock therapy. It could not give much benefit to the world economy.
Eastern communist countries suffered greatly from shock therapy. Which had a great impact on the economy of communist countries. The Soviet Union's economy collapsed with this system. Development of more than 50 banks stopped.
Government manufactured goods were sold at low prices. Due to which factories and economy were completely destroyed. Due to privatization, the manufacture of goods did not start at the right time. Due to which the goods were not exported on time.
With this system, the numbers of poor and rich started to grow. A large amount of poverty in the world created the problem of richness.
Relations between India and the Soviet Union - During the Cold War, friendship between India and the Soviet Union began to grow. As a result, many countries criticized it.
All countries started saying that India is leaning towards Soviet. The Soviet Union helped India's economy at a time when India's economy was very poor. The Soviet Union has always helped and favoured India's case of Kashmir. The Soviet Union has always provided military support to India. The Soviet Union has sold its special tools to India.
